What the VUSAF expects of you.
Commanding Officer
- Maintain a working squadron
- Set guidelines and rules for the squadron
- Setup and coordinate Saturday night battles
- Resolve squadron issues and conflicts
- Keep the squadron website up and running accurately
- Promote pilots accordingly
- Award ribbons to pilots accordingly
- Eject pilots that can not or will not follow squadron
rules
- Evaluate new pilots coming aboard
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Executive Officer
- Setup and coordinate Wednesday night battles
- Run the squadron when the CO is unavailable or absent
- Resolve squadron issues and conflicts
- Make sure all Flight Leaders and above are doing their
jobs
- Guide the Training Officer in the direction the
squadron wants training done.
- Evaluate new pilots coming aboard
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Liaison
Officer
- Setup battles between our squadron and others in
advance of our Wednesday and Saturday night battles.
- Setup all battles at 9pm central time.
- Assist the XO in his duties when needed
- Help evaluate new pilots coming aboard
- Coordinate with the Flight Commander and update the roster
with an accurate list of which pilots were at the battles on Wed and Sat
nights.
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Training Officer
- Teach each pilot how to get the most out of this sim.
- Conduct training on a weekly basis using your own
discretion
- Help evaluate new pilots coming aboard
- Coordinate with the Flight Leaders training of the
pilots in their Flights
- Maintain an updated Calendar
page with battles and training.
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Logistics Officer
- Train each pilot efficient maneuvers against an enemy
target while flying the F/A-18.
- Work closely with the Training Officer.
- Conduct training on a weekly basis using your own
discretion
- Help evaluate new pilots coming aboard
- Coordinate with the Flight Leaders training of the
pilots in their Flights
- Maintain an updated Calendar
page with battles and training.
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Flight
Commander
- Direct promotions and ejections handed down to him from
the CO or XO.
- The Flight is yours. All Flight Leaders
come directly to you when they have an issue.
- On battle nights, pull together all pilots IP addresses
at least 15 minutes prior to Wed and Sat battles.
- Submit to the CO, via email, a list of all pilots that
attended the battle.
- Help evaluate new pilots coming aboard
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Flight
Leader
- Maintain flying relationships with all those in your
Flight.
- Ensure that pilots in your Flight fly together as a
team. They are to fly together on battle nights.
- Maintain proper chain of command. Go to
the Flight Commander with all issues.
- Train the pilots in your Flight.
- Help evaluate new pilots coming aboard.
- Recommend promotions and ribbons as needed to the
Flight Commander.
- Get pilots in your Flight ready for battle on Wednesday
and Saturday and have IP's and teams ready for the Flight Commander 15
minutes prior to battle time.
- Submit a list of pilots in your Flight, that attended
the battle, to the Flight Commander after the battle.
- Discipline the pilots in your Flight when necessary.
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
Pilot
- Fly
- Be here for battles on Wed and Saturday nights.
- Maintain proper chain of command. Go to
your Flight Leader with any issues you might have.
(The CO simply can not handle all the normal day to day issues that come up
when dealing with 30 pilots)
- Follow the rules of the
squadron.
