Operation Cuban Cigar

   On June 13, 2000 forces unfriendly to the U.S. took over Vega Baja Island in a show of power.  The reason for this is still unknown why.  But the President of the U.S. as ordered U.S. forces in the area to take back these chain of island which are of strategic importance to the U.S.  The JCS have come up with the plane that will involve all combat ready units in the area.  Which are the 366th Wing and the 82nd Air Born Division.  Which both were order to deploy to the U.S. airbase in area of Vega Baja.  The Navy and Marine will arrive in the area this week. 


Day Two
Mission: Take out AAA & SAM on Toa Baja Island.

    Today the Cuban government has accused the U.S. of attacking and shooting down two of their aircraft yesterday over the area of Vega Baja Island.  According to the Cuban government there aircraft got lost and found themselves in the middle of a firefight. Were they were engaged by U.S. warplanes and consequently shoot down. The Cuban Government has ordered its arm force to be on alert. The Cuban Navy has ordered 4 of it ship to enter the area and look for there downed pilots. The Cuban Air Force as also moved some aircraft to the area some of which air combat aircraft.  The Cuban government considers this as an act of unmistakable aggression against Cuba and its people.

389th FS
The 389th will fly BARCAP in this mission.  389th will engage and destroy any aircraft that threatens any of the 391st planes.

391st FS
The 391st will fly a Hi and Low mission over the target area. They are tasked with destroying the air defense of the new island called Toa Baja. Toa Baja holds a airbase and a command and control bunker.

  22nd ARW
The 22nd ARW will proved aerial refueling around the clock to all aircraft involved in this operation. 

  82nd Air Born
Will defend Vega Baja Island until reinforcements arrive in the form of the 101 Air boron assault division. Then the 82nd will move on to take the island of Toa Baja. 

  Primary Target: SAM & AAA
Secondary Target: Radars

  Intel indicates also that the Cuban Air Force has deployed some forces to the area to help look for they're down pilots.  This includes MIG's, long-range bomber, and low leave fighter-bomber. 

  Note At no time will you engage the airbase or the command bunker.  Also be aware of Cuban aircraft that have been seen and shoot down in the area.

Day One:
Mission: Taking of Vega Baja Island chain.

    The 366th Wing is tasked with the protection of the Air Born invasion.  The 389th FS job will be to fly a BARCAP over the area in search of any threat to the Air Born invasion.  The 391st FS job will be to take out all threats in the island that would hamper the Air Born invasion.  The Navy and Marines will arrive 10 hours after the taken of the island. Due to the fact that the 366th Wing and the 82nd Air Born  where the only to units close in time to take out this threat.

Primer Target: AAA & SAM
Secondary Target: Small Air Field
Other Target: GCI Radar & Tents

Note: Possible Yak -141's and other air craft in the area.  No VUSAF will cross into Cuban air space at any time.
